# pay to see. earn when others pay.

> what is x402.page?

A paywall for anything you can write down. Lock text and an optional link; people pay to see it. HTTP 402 is the "Payment Required" status code, and x402 is the open standard for paying for things on the web, which we use.

> how is the price set?

The creator picks the price of unlock #1 and a step. Every unlock raises the next price by that step, forever. It is fixed on-chain and nobody can change it, including the creator.

> who gets the money?

Each payment is split three ways: a share (set by the creator, up to 60%) goes to everyone who unlocked before, split equally; 5% is the platform fee; the rest goes to the creator. On unlock #1 there is nobody before, so that share goes to the creator.

> how do i get paid?

Earnings sit in the contract until you claim them on the Earnings page. Claims over $0.50 are free (we pay the gas). Nobody, including us, can move your earnings.

> is this an investment?

No. You are paying to see content. You only earn if other people unlock after you, and there is no guarantee anyone will. Early slots can be bought by anyone, including the creator using other wallets.

> what do i pay with?

USDG, the Paxos dollar, on Robinhood Chain. You sign one authorization in your wallet and we submit it, so you need no ETH. USDC bridged to Robinhood Chain (for example with Across) arrives as USDG.

> can the creator change the content after i pay?

No. A hash of the content is fixed on-chain when the page is created. When you unlock, your browser recomputes it and shows whether it matches.

> what if something breaks?

The contract is unaudited, immutable and holds only what it owes. The owner can pause new unlocks or block a page, but claims always work.
